Life Back Home

Well, I have been back home for a week now.

After the longest journey back home. Seriously, i’m tempted to send it into Guinness Book of World Records for longest journey (jokes), but holy.. remind me to never travel back to Canada like that again. This was my route: flight from Queenstown, NZ to Auckland NZ, had to sleep in the Auckland airport as I got in in the evening and my departing flight was at 5:00am and I honestly couldn’t really afford a hotel for a night in New Zealand. So that kind of sucked but I made it work. The next morning I flew from Auckland to Melbourne, Australia where I had an eight hour layover and wasn’t able to leave the airport… at this point I was getting pretty grumpy because all I wanted to do was breathe fresh air and I did not want to hang out in an airport for eight hours, but there was nothing I could do about it so I checked out the airport and did some Facetiming. From Melbourne I flew back to Bali where I landed at 8:00pm and had to leave the following day at 4:00pm, I treated myself to a hotel this night because all I wanted to do was lay in a bed. It was only 20.00CAD$ and it was a real treat. After staying the night in Bali I flew from Denpasar, Bali to Taipei, Taiwan where I had a 3 hour layover. I then flew for 11 hours from Taipei to Vancouver, SO close to home but I still had a ferry to catch. I hoped on my ferry and was so excited to get home, shower, and lay in bed. When I arrived at the ferry I was greeted by two of my best friends (Lia and Carling) and I was so thrilled to see them, ah so nice of them to come get me! Anyway, that was my trek home – it sucked, but I find it kind of funny now.

My jet leg is wearing off and reality is starting to sink in. I went back to work two days after being back which was hard but it was so lovely to see all of the girls, I missed them! I am feeling really inspired to work as hard as I can for a couple months so I can take off again to go do more exploring. So, I think for the next little bit my life will be work, but it will be worth it in the long run.

I definitely appreciate my bed, hot showers, and home cooked meals after being away. It’s the little things in life. It’s also been so nice catching up with family and friends, I missed them all very much!
